Industry-led Workshop hosted by FFR and Brightwater
A recent industry-led workshop hosted by FFR and forestry equipment manufacturer Brightwater targeted increasing productivity and reducing costs of cable logging.
The workshop held in Rotorua in March 2011 drew 24 forest industry participants ranging from logging contractors, forest owners and harvest managers, engineers from manufacturing companies and researchers.
The objectives of the workshop were to define the improvements required to the swing yarder design to incorporate new technology that is under development as part of FFR’s Harvesting Theme. This was the first workshop of its kind for many years targeting engineering developments and demonstrated the value of collaboration between companies like Brightwater and FFR.
