
University of Canterbury School of Forestry is running a series of Forest Engineering Workshops in Rotorua from 2-5 June 2026. These one-day courses are designed to provide up-to-date information in a structured learning environment for people actively engaged in the forest industry.
The courses are:
Working on Steep Slopes with Winch Assist: Tue 2nd June
Safe and Effective use of Mobile Tailholds: Wed 3rd June
Managing Production for Cost-Effective Logging: Thu 4th June
Building Better Forest Roads – Design and Construction: Fri 5th June
Each course will be run at Rydges Hotel, Rotorua starting at 8:30am and finishing at 4:00pm.
The cost is $350 (+GST) per person per day. This includes all teaching materials, morning and afternoon tea, as well as lunch.

Courses will be confirmed once 15 people have registered (capped at 35 pp.), no later than the first week of May.
There is an option to run a second Roading Workshop if there is sufficient demand.
