Forest Growers Research at Fieldays 2024
Forest Growers Research joined the Forest Owners Association and many other forestry organisations in the Forestry Hub at Fieldays 12th – 15th June 2024. In our corner of the Hub, we talked about forests, their uses and ecosystem services, the value of research and innovation, the products you can make from wood (both pine and other species). Handing out wallaby salami was a great way to promote the importance of biosecurity and pest control – as well as raise a few eyebrows!
The one-tonne block of ice hiding a few polar bears was a huge drawcard for kids and adults alike – spreading the message about the role of forests in helping to mitigate climate change. It was a fantastic showcase for forestry, connecting with our stakeholders, telling our story, and capturing the imagination of the next generation of foresters. See you in 2025!
